1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information created when you use the app, and limited technical information that helps us operate and improve the service.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to provide the GluNudge service, support users, and improve the app over time.

• To analyze meal photos and generate nutrition-related estimates, summaries, and optional Meal Recaps.
• To save your history, preferences, and account settings.
• To operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the app.
• To understand how the service is used, manage AI access and subscriptions, and improve reliability.
• To respond to support requests, questions, and feedback.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.

3. How We Handle Meal Photos, Meal Recaps, and Nutrition Estimates

Meal photos and the resulting estimates are core to the product. Saved meal history, nutrition estimates, food-quality signals, and logged readings are stored on your device by default. If you enable sync, that saved app data is also synced to your private iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit service.

When you request AI analysis or Meal Recap generation, the selected meal photo and related request data are sent to GluNudge’s backend, which runs on Cloudflare infrastructure. To provide the requested result, GluNudge may temporarily store the image and job data on Cloudflare, send the meal photo and request context to OpenAI, and keep the returned analysis or Meal Recap for a limited time so the app can retrieve it.

AI analysis and Meal Recap job records currently expire after about 72 hours. Uploaded images are retained temporarily under our storage lifecycle rules, and the signed image links used for processing are short-lived.

GluNudge is designed as a lifestyle product. The app is not intended to provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and its nutrition results should be understood as estimates rather than guaranteed clinical measurements.

4. When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in limited situations such as the following:

• With Apple services you choose or use, such as iCloud/CloudKit sync, Apple Health permissions, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit subscriptions, and Apple Push Notification service.
• With Cloudflare and other infrastructure providers that help us host, secure, queue, store, and operate the app backend.
• With OpenAI when you request AI meal analysis or Meal Recap generation.
• With support providers or authorized personnel when needed to respond to support requests you submit.
• If we offer sharing features and you choose to use them, with the people you select, and only according to the sharing controls shown in the app.
• When required by law, regulation, legal process, or valid government request.
• To protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of GluNudge, our users, or the public.
• As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

5. Retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and how it is used.

• Meal history, readings, preferences, and synced app data remain on your device and, if sync is enabled, in iCloud until you delete them or use the in-app deletion controls.
• AI analysis and Meal Recap job records, along with returned results, are retained for short operational periods, currently about 72 hours, so the app can retrieve results and troubleshoot failed jobs.
• Images uploaded for AI analysis or Meal Recap generation are retained temporarily under our storage lifecycle rules.
• Account sessions, subscription records, notification tokens, support records, and security logs are retained as needed to operate, secure, and support the service.

6. Your Choices

• You can choose whether to submit meal photos and other optional content.
• You can choose whether to grant Apple Health access. You can change Health permissions in the Health app or iOS Settings.
• You can manage device permissions, including camera, photo library, and notification access, in your device settings.
• You can turn iCloud sync on or off in the app.
• You can access, export, or delete app data using the controls provided in the app, where available.
• You can sign out of your GluNudge account and restore purchases through Apple and the App Store.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children’s Privacy

GluNudge is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

9. International Processing

Depending on where you use GluNudge, your information may be processed or stored in countries other than your own. Where required, we will use reasonable measures intended to protect information during those transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
